Mindful Eating Mondays
A 10 week online group to befriend food & body
Mondays March 31 – June 16
6:30 – 8:30pm MST
(Contact me to be added to a waitlist for the next group)
What is Mindful Eating?
Mindful eating is a practice of eating without distraction, using your 5 senses.
This practice helps slow down the process of eating, so that you can stay connected with your body’s cues of hunger, fullness, and emotional satisfaction.
Mindful eating practices can help you better understand your body’s needs. You’ll learn to address food cravings and attend to emotional eating concerns.
You’ll practice connecting with your body in different ways so that you may have a kinder relationship with your body.

This group is for you if...
- You want a more relaxed, guilt-free relationship with food.
- You’re ready to explore cravings and emotional eating without judgement.
- You want to reconnect with your body’s cues of hunger and fullness.
- You want to build sustainable, supportive eating habits.
- You’re open to an approach that does NOT focus on weight loss or dieting.
What can I expect from this group?
You can think of Mindful Eating Mondays like going to a yoga class for eating.
Instead of a yoga mat, you’ll bring food! And since the group is virtual, you don’t have to worry about food smells like fish or curry. You can even keep melty foods like ice cream in the freezer until we begin our mindful eating practice.
Each week we start off with a grounding activity that I’ll guide you through so that you can feel more connected and present in your body.
Then I’ll introduce the week’s topic and we’ll have a little discussion before I guide you into a mindful eating activity.
There will be time for group reflections and sharing as well as setting intentions for the next week.

FAQs
Good question! This group is designed to practice different mindful eating skills and activities. This means that each week you’ll bring a food (either a meal-size or snack-size) to practice eating.
I offer a list of suggested foods to practice with as we explore different topics over the 10 weeks.
And there’s no “wrong” choice – you can bring your supper, a snack, a dessert, or even something to drink. The purpose is to explore eating different foods using your 5 senses, while staying connected to your body’s cues.
Not at all! In fact I’ll encourage folks to turn off their cameras during the mindful eating practices so that you don’t have to worry about food on your face or anyone watching you while you eat.
The mindful eating practices are an opportunity for you to connect with your body and better tune into hunger, fullness, and satisfaction cues.
There is no judgement with the type of food that you bring. And there’s never any pressure to share with the group what you’re eating.
This group is for anyone wanting to improve their relationship to food and have a kinder relationship with their bodies while practicing mindful eating skills.
It’s open to residents in Canada living in Alberta, BC, or Ontario.
The next group runs Monday evenings 6:30-8:30pm MST starting March 31 until June 16, 2025.
Groups are facilitated online via Zoom.
Eating disorders and eating concerns vary along a spectrum of severity. For those in early recovery, this group is likely not the best fit.
Mindful Eating Mondays isn’t a replacement for a higher level of nutrition care or support from a therapist. If you’ve already done some work in recovery and are already practicing mindfulness in your individual treament, this group may help.
If you’re unsure where you’re at, please get in touch and we can chat more about whether this group is for you.
Nope! This group helps you practice mindful eating skills to build a healthier relationship with food. There is group support, however this is not a replacement for therapy. If you find that you’re having a hard time in the group, it may be a sign that you may need support from an additional professional.
This group is all about practicing mindful eating skills. Thus we do not cover topics about nutrition or talk about “what” to eat. You’re welcome to bring whatever food you’d like to practice mindfully eating each week. Please reach out to me individually if you’re looking for support to improve nutrition.
Wanting to lose weight is a common desire, however, weight loss is not the focus of this group.
Mindful Eating Mondays follows weight-inclusive principles including the belief that bodies of all sizes deserve full nourishment and respect.
Focusing on weight loss often leads you into the diet-binge cycle and fighting with food.
This group is not about weight loss – it’s about learning to take care and respect the body that you currently have so that you can have a more flexible relationship with food & body.
Due to the varying nature of health insurance benefits and health/wellness spending accounts, please check with your individual insurance company to confirm if you have coverage for this group.
